Picked this up sort of on a whim, liked the reverse toning.

Thoughts on grade and will it grade straight? Currently in an ICG Slab

That's lovely. Looks nicer than my AU-58 so I'll say MS-62.

The sharp discoloration marks around the eagle's head on the reverse are of some concern - what do they look like in hand?

I'd guess it would straight grade in a cross attempt. What's the current grade?

If you like one company over another, then go for it.

As to:

Its a gamble no matter what. Since grading is subjective and nothing verifiable is used in the process of grading, there is no way to know. Its all guesswork.

Some graders might see the marks on the REV and the effigy of Miss Liberty as tampering. Some may not.

Looks like grafitti in the reverse. If straight graded now, I would be thankful.

MS-62 straight. I don't see any wear, and the originality is fantastic. The marks above the eagle seem to be shallow and old, but had to tell exactly through the chattered up holder. Not much luster, although this is not unusual. Lovely!

I don't see any scratch on the lower reverse that would result in a details and the toning breaks don't look bad at all in hand. I will probably just hold on to it as is for now
