That's a nice coin! Obverse is a VF30 but the reverse is the show stopper. I'd put the reverse at EF-40, possibly 45 but the important thing is that it's a very solid strike. That's rare in the 1858 20c...there's almost always significant weakness in the date and the "N" in CENTS. I have four of those and only one of them is as well struck as that one. It's the common variety - I don't see any of the "blundered Is" - but who cares!

If you are keeping it, don't get it graded ... anyone can see that it's a nice coin. Most people use the rule of thumb that, unless you can sell the coin for $200, it's not worth getting graded because of the costs involved. If graded by ICCS, then I'd drop the "sell" price down to $150, since their TPG costs are lower. It's great now it is ... leave it.

I'll say EF-40 overall.

EF40 sounds right to me. First pic kind of looks like cleaning on the reverse? But second photo of the reverse I'm not seeing the hairline scratches so maybe not.

VF-30 tops
Too much wear on the braid and upper hair for EF-40.
Worth around $200

Can't tell from the pics. Check the date for RE 5.

Yes, looks like the RE 5. Chunky with the bulge on the top left. The leaf looks like a die break. The top of the crown is 'normal' for this coin.
