I think I might have finally figured it all out this would help confirm if I do understand doubling. If pictures are to poor to tell from ill take it to the coin shop Tuesday and have them look instead.

I know this coin has a ton of Die Deterioration however I'm still pretty sure this has actual doubling on it also

the doubling isn't super major and this coins been circulated hardcore so it's definitely not an easy one to see on the UN in United or really anywhere but it is more visible in other places. Should be easier to see on HALF.

@deca, could that be a thin strip of MD on the letters H and L rather than a doubled die?

It's on every letter around the rim with the same affect not to the same extent but the D in dollar shows it well doesn't look like MD to me and my photos prob aren't the greatest still so doesn't help ill probably just take it by my coin shop and have them look

The Machine Doubling can happen on insides and outsides of the devices.

On a doubled die, the spread is on the centers of the devices. (I was hoping I had some images of a DDR JFK half, but none. Seems like the inspection of the dies first strikes, the mint employees catch onto the DDRs. It is the subtle hub doubling they missing like on stars)

Some have asked about my images I use and I'm glad to say, you can now you can see the DVD in sections on youtube:

I don't think your photos show any significant doubling, attached is a photo of the doubling on the CONECA listed 72D DDR-002.

Drew. Check out the bottom tip of your S and the DDR S. The DDR is obviously thicker. Keep looking
