Hello I was going through my nickels and came across a 1959 D but closer of a look I found what could be doubling in the letters In God We Trust. I took as well a photo as my phone would allow hopefully a good eye on these types of errors can tell if it is doubling. Thanks so much
First thing to check what is normal and what is an aging die: Note on the lowest example from the images. Note how die wear affects the devices. As the die is aging, not the two colorful images of the VLDS examples. Note how these devices are showing die wear on these devices. So I feel that is what you are seeing. These examples are all BU examples, so on your coin also being circulated, your coin will show some flattening the devices. (also making the devices appear wider. But this is usually seen on the tops of the highest devices. I feel that is also an issue on your coin. So while you are look at the correct area (the centers of the devices) some other factors also figure in. (Die state and circulation)
