It's not a smooth flat surface.
There's indentation in it. If it's not a DDR then it is some crazy MD.

I just got a digital magnifier and wanted to know if this is what I'm supposed to look for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

@the, the doubling is extreme, but step-like and reduces the width of the letters so my vote is MD also.

On a DD, the devises would be thicker, on your coin they are thinner which indicates MD.
