Oh okay - glad to win, but seems slightly nitpicky, I honestly thought guessing the right coin would be good enough and some were ambiguous meaning they matched 2 very similar types (Dutch and Antillean 10 cent coins etc). Australian 50 cent coin has identical design and portrait on all of them to 1984. We were penalised for not knowing metal colour basically - for someone with limited sight like me nickle and silver look very close in colour.

Regarding the Dutch and Antillean coins, I gave those points to you as I didn't realise there was a similar coin design so not sure why you're mentioning that clue.

Regarding the others:
Coin018a - I included a picture of the obverse to show that the date is not split between the harp unlike the series you (or Steve) nominated.
Coin020a - I included a picture of the obverse to show that there is no text adjacent to the prince's turban unlike the series you (or Steve) nominated.
Coin021a - I included a picture with part of the date (1991) showing, this excluded any of the dates in the series you (or Steve) nominated.
Coin094a - I included a portion of the rim in the image. A: The curvature of the rim is evident indicating 1966 50C. B: The field between the CoA and rim is different to the later dodecagon 50c pieces. Two clues that this was the 1966 round 50c piece unlike the dodecagon 50c piece that you (or Steve) nominated.
Coin123a - The 1981 5 centavo from Cuba was issued as 2 types, one with the number 5 on the reverse, the other without. I included a second picture that showed that the number 5 was lacking.

So in a nut shell, you got the wrong answer and were not penalised for poor vision, rather lack of attention to detail, even after I mentioned some coins had a second image that shouldn't be ignored. I will stand corrected if you can show me where you lost a point because you were made to choose a coin based on the colour of the image.

The victory has become a pyrrhic one. Penalised for cosmetic errors, the fact the wrong coins we guessed were so close to the right ones, they mean nothing. Just feel for contesting the errors, I leave with a sour taste in my mouth, when it should be the taste of victory rather than grapes.

Anyway I still look forward to our prizes and the fact our scores of 139/144 are pretty darn high (96.8%)in my opinion.

Well I owe an apology to January1may and Petespocket - Your results were in the emails, just not as attachments, which is what I was scanning for. After tallying the results January1may has equaled that of Spence so a tie for 3rd place. There was a NZ set for grabs but will see if I can find something else in the bag as another prize.

Princetane - If you set exams and tests for secondary and tertiary education you will realise that you cannot give full marks for 'almost' correct answers because you will end up with every student arguing they should get full marks because they were this or that 'close' to the actual answer. You and Steve kicked ass(I thought I had made it too hard) so don't let the fact you didn't get 100% sour the victory. Just chalk it up to a quiz setter who's spent too long in the education sector.

Will post the prizes off this week and let the 3rd place getters know what else is in the goodies bag.

Is the Israeli set still on offer? If so I'm picking that.

Congrats again everyone and thanks David Graham for the update.

And yes they did kick our mules.

And since you updated I realize that I'm a winner because now I know don't have a knack for getting emails lost.

Sorry DG - I have been in the education sector too and you are completely right. I had to deal with many students saying stuff, well its 90% right and the question was ambiguous (University Tutoring).

Good work Spence and January1May.

I should probably check if my prize had arrived... if it hadn't yet it probably wouldn't, because most postal services apparently no longer deliver to Russia, though I suppose there's a slight chance that it's already in Russia and just hadn't made it to my post office yet.
