@kha, I think that we need more information from you in order to help. What year cent are you talking about? My first thought was the famous one (1909-S), but because you state DDO rather than DDR, I'm not entirely sure. Thx for the clarification.

Just Machine Doubling:

They are incuse on the coin, raised on the die. Thus an enlarging would be Machine Doubling.

Personally I do not see in Liberty. For VDB? I do not put my hand in fire but never hear about an DD except MD
