I am rapidly approaching my 1000th post and while I well appreciate that 1000 is a miniscule number compared to many of our high mileage moderators, and of course the members that make a comment on every post whether or not it adds value., it still is a lot. My dilemma is knowing how to go about it. I realize that many members set up contests that offer giveaways and stuff, but that is not for me. I would rather get stuff, than give anything away. I could make it kind of a contest. Everyone send me nice stuff. Gold, 24k would be great, actually any gold would be acceptable. 925 Sterling is also OK, and if you don't want to send me coins, bullion would be good. Absolutely no copper, unless you happen to have a 1943 Lincoln going spare. Okay, so now back to the contest. The one that sends me the most valuable sctuff would be the winner and I would send that person a genuine counterfeit pigeon-toed Toonie.

Well, that leaves me out. All I have to spare is some platinum and/or palladium.
Congrats on your 1000 quality posts and here's to the next 1000!

I think this is a great contest! I'll see how well you do, I may do one for platinum or palladium! Sadly I have no gold to spare (I didn't get my gold bar and puppy from the last contest), so I'll have to pass!

Would the title to one of my vehicles count?

I guess I can spare one of my many many rolls of double eagles. I'll even throw in a free Mercury dime.

Is there any legality issues with offering a counterfeit as a prize? I have been going out of my way to not get any more.
You could just do a contest for bragging rights if you don't want to give away any coins. Any spare extra coins I aquire I have to save for my next give away.

Congrats, I hope to get to 1000 posts someday. Unfortunately I also only have copper to spare so I will have to pass.

I've got a '67 Ford Shelby GT500--not a kit car. Would that do?

Well, this is now my 1000th. I must say I am slightly underwelmed by the lack of appreciation for my accomplishment even though I am honored by all the good wishes. It's great to receive congratulations but, shiny valuable precious metals are even more better. To the members willing to give me their prized vehicles, Greasy Fingers and ijn1944, please accept my genuine appreciation, but my heart was kinda set on a Porsche Spyder. Fancy Mustangs would be good for carrying all my nice gifts, but since I didn't get any, I will just wait to try this again when the members are in more of a generous frame. Thanx again

Not to burst your bubble, but you are at 999 posts. Not quite 1,000...

Huh, this is an...interesting idea.
Congrats on the 1000 though! It's a great accomplishment.
Sadly the only thing I have to spare, like a few others, is copper, the bit of silver and gold I do have is kept safe, so I'll have to opt out of this one.
