there is no 1979 p penny listed I have to send it for attribution I am not saying it's a DDO do not worry I will take care of it I see no one else cares thank you |

Yes, the D is damaged. The question here is is the G doubled or something else. It is the only letter I see that look quite like that. I'm curious about this one.
Don't worry about people caring about your posts or coins. Some of us get on later in the day to post.
Sometimes it takes a lot of time to get the responses you are looking for.

Not sure what happened to the G but would agree with those above, some sort of damage. I'm sure you are wondering why there is a nearly perfect 90 degree angled damage but who knows, that is the only reasonable answer. What I am sure of, is this is not hub doubling, save your money.  -makecents-

The size of the 'G' is normal for that year. Looks like the circulation has covered the same affect on the other devices.
