I'm kinda addicted to serial #12. Matching up blocks on different series is a fun challenge. Here's a 2009 and 2013 $1 L-D block matching pair. The serial #12 works well with the San Francisco district and the additional 12s printed on the note.

I have a few dollar notes, none as nice as the ones posted but a dollar is still a dollar.
A fantastic run of singles!

Like many paper money collectors, I started with small-size $1 FRN replacement notes. I received a lot of coaching and advice from fellow Floridian Robert Azpiazu. His paper money guide has a pair of lists in the back with his experienced opinion concerning the Top Ten rarest non-star and star notes. Here is the top four on the star note list. All four of these notes were purchased in one transaction from a collector leaving the hobby. They were all in CGA holders with the exact same grades they have now.

My contribution. I don't collect notes. I'm a foster parent until they find a new home. Sorry for the so-so photos. Pictures taken through plastic. The folds on Washington's face makes it appear he has a mustache. I think it looks good on him.

I usually don't chase grades but when I saw this beauty I knew I had to have it. A near-perfect example of the printers art. As pristine as the day it was printed over 60 years ago. Check out the monster margins on the back of this Superb Gem 1957B $1 Silver Certificate.
