What do you guys think about this type coin (of a really expensive type where high-end ones are out of the question for me)?

I'll say VF-25. Tough date.

Tough date AND tough series. One I still need for my type set.
I'd agree with VF25, possibly details depending whats going on on the obverse? Old cleaning retoned? Light ED? Nothing at all? Probably got a pass given the date and series.

20 net 12 marks & dings but I like the color. PCGS probably holdered it VF20. I'd straight grade it, the planchet quality of the Boulton & Watt blanks used for Classic Heads is notoriously poor.

Don't know enough about this, but I guess it is in VF-25 range.

I like this one, it's attractive to me. Nice look to it and I'd give it VF-25.

VF20 The coin looks like it has been stained.

I sent six coins of varying value (this being one of the more valuable ones) into PCGS for a gold shield and true view (and mostly to renew the holder, as this holder seemed more "mauled" than scratched), so I look forward to seeing the true view pictures eventually when they come back, probably in a month or two.

Definitely on the higher end for this difficult date. I would say VF 20. My example below was probably wiped at some point, but it has a smooth planchet and decent details.

Your example seems to have a very nice planchet! Great 1811 cent!

VF25. tough series to get a decent planchet so they may grade this one straight

Some of you nailed it at VF(25). I like the contrast on this coin--although I don't love the planchet. This coin certainly looks unique to me, and I like its character, despite its low grade as a type coin. Who knows? Maybe one day I will try to trade up for a Classic Head cent in a higher grade.

Nice looking coin, fairly graded IMHO.
