well put by jacrispies. There is a difference between contact marks and wear. Evidence of wear, depending on the extent implies circulation. Even light breaks in luster are acceptable in low MS, depending on the extent, and would have to be differentiated from "wear". Telling the difference between the two, especially in certain series is the tricky part. That's when experience, research, and handling 100's-1000's of examples comes into play.
Distinguishing between cabinet rub and circulation wear is mainly a problem with sliders.
