Late to the table here. I would have gone with AU58. Yikes.

It could just be a function of pictures and toning. If graded today, the wye appeal may not be there but hard to tell on surfaces, it could haves toned over last 20-30 years.

Seems crazy to me, but the toning makes it difficult to grade from pics.

yea the toning makes it hard to tell but I see no wear. these coins have weak strikes in the bottom face of the totem and in the hair. you can see that coins in ICCS holders have similar flatness in the same areas. and by no way I'm an expert just my opinion from seeing other coins graded the same.

No way that would ever grade 65 by Canadian Standards.

If that was my coin, I'd take that bet in a heartbeat, especially with ICCS.

The rims are clean and square, and I have seen blast white coins with more marks on the devices and fields, get that same grade.

Don't worry, the coin is genuine.

Earlier PCGS grading slab.

In the early years they were often way off in their grading.

However, the coin still is a moderate to high grade MS coin.
