Home for just four days, the only break over the summer from otherwise 7 days a week of work. Not much time for looking at coins while working, but I do buy up what I can find at dealers along the way. Picked up a box of BU memorial rolls among some other things and last night asked myself which one roll is most likely to have something good in it. I chose the 1972-P. Well there was exactly one interesting coin in there. I find this die to be the toughest of all the doubled dies for this year to actually see. The coin in the photos is a Wexler stage-A, an early die stage that neither CONECA nor Coppercoins show an example of. So a pretty rare die stage on a pretty rare coin, but it's just so soft even in this die stage that one wonders why it made it into the CherryPickers' Guide. 1972 Lincoln Memorial cent doubled die - DDO-005, FS-105

Yes welcome back for a few days @tb. This one is pretty subtle, but I do see that whisper of doubling especially on I and N.

Things in the bat cave are cooking along with the first project done and a number of rare bats tracked to their roosts. The second project still has three weeks to go and catching very few bats and nothing rare. Most of the cave bats all died off from White Nose Syndrome about 15 years ago so now just few left and important that we do find where they are. They are just gone completely from where I currently am and after a week of netting have only caught two different species of common bats. It's quite sad. But long hours and no days off so while I am still buying coins along the way just little time to actually look at them. I think I'm up to something like 25,000 so far and likely will pick up another 10,000 from a dealer on my drive back out there. So lots to look at this winter!

The '9' on the Doubled Dies give them away as being a doubled die: Look at these images and you will see what I mean. (note the arrows)
