1979 was one of those rare years when one could collect a full set of UK coins from change. But a proof set was also available...

The UK issued no commemoratives in 1979 but the Pobjoy Mint poured out its usual excess of 'legal tender crowns' for the Isle of Man. This was the nicest...

Unfortunately, to illustrate the history of Manx coinage today, you'd need something the size of Swedish plate money!
