In the 1st pic, the left coin is the SD & the right is the LD.

Other thing: make the line from base of the digit 1 and the digit 2, if the 8 do not cross the line you has. the digit 2 it is indication but is not the concrete. Other thing it is the orientation of the MM "D" and also the position.

The digit 2 was find same in the both strikes LD and SD.

Do you have a weight--to two decimal places--of the small date coin?

top coin is a small date, bottom coin is a large date. most likely they are both zinc coins, but if one turns out to be copper it will be the large date one.
