Hi thanks for your great help and info on this site. Question: I'd like to purchase some coins from sellers in the UK. I live in the US. I'm concerned about import fees, customs fees, etc. Any idea of what these may cost, as I'm sure you all have better experience with this. Thanks for your help and advice!

I collect coins from the UK and have never had any issues with any import fees, customs fees, paperwork or anything. I get both from a private individual who just mails them to me and occasionally from dealers, who also have just mailed them. I have received as many as thirty or more in a single package.
On the other hand, coins I sent to the UK Collecter from here have sometimes been hit with customs fees.
Currently working on:
Australia type set
Canada type set
Three from each country (up to 416!)
UK 20th and 21st century
IHC's! NGC certified MS-62 or better, Capital Plastics Fine or better, Dansco Fine or better, Dansco any x3, and Coin Board for wall display, any grade. (I may be a tad obsessed)

I've had maybe 10 packages come from the UK in my illustrious career. Nothing particularly high value if that matters. US customs never stopped them and slapped me with a tax. Seller just put their usual postage on it and a week or two later it arrived.
My hoard of '82s is up to 241! 218 BC x 1, 118 BC x 3, 18 BC x 1, 82 x 1, 182 x 1, 282 x 2, 382 x 1, 582 x 2, 682 x 1, 782 x 2, 882 x 1, 982 x 4, 1082 x 1 1182 x 8, 1282 x 2, 1382 x 1, 1482 x 6, 1582 x 13, 1682 x 17, 1782 x 60, 1882 x 68, 1982 x 45

I regularly sell to the USA, and it seems to be that using Royal Mail to send over to you guys from here is problem free. However, if you declare a large value then I believe you may get stung appropriate import charges. I normally just declare about $100 and it usually gets there with no import charges, same when I buy from the USA actually!
