Full images of both sides would help us see a more complete picture. As it is, it appears the coin may have spent a little time in a parking lot or on a concrete surface.--damage, not a mint error.

Im obviously new to the hobby. Would rot be so precise. I guess maybe because in the area were doubling is occuring more copper removal. Just a guess. Ill send full pics.

to the CCF...it does appear, from the pics presented, that any issue is from circulation damage.

It looks like parking lot damage. The coin must've been run over and driven into the small pebbles in the street, causing the pits.

@sch, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please add the date of this coin to the thread (I can only see the first three digits in your pics)? Thx!

The obverse on the right side of the date is DDD starting on that area. The reverse is showing split plating on the tops of some of the devices (UNITED) This is not a doubled die. This is a striking issue. Normal die with wear and strong strike that split the plating. No premium either of these, just a spender.
