1998 D Turning All Sorts Of Cool Colors

I found a 1998 D (2.51g) cent that has turned a lot of cool colors. I remember reading something about that, but can't find it.
Could ya'll help remind me what this is?

I will boil in water then without fronting dry. see the result.

I say just boil in water and dry, then you will see the result. A 1998 white like this do not match the oxides.

I believe Silviosi is saying that the coloring is water soluble and will disappear when boiled in water...therefore it is nothing of importance
