Question: Do you recommend I get this graded by a professional grading company? I am hoping to sell this via Ebay; however, in order to ask more than $2,500 terms state that it must be graded by a third party grading service. Looking to have the coin community tell me what is the best route in order to sell this $1 note? Possible Grade and estimated value.

Lastly, it appears the date for that serial number was printed in 2009 based on the following site: http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/f2009_s.html
rather than 2013 as the bill states. Am I looking at this correctly?

Thank-you for all your help. Below is info I gathered about the bill from CoolNumbers.com regarding the serial number rarity-

How Cool Is 10000001?

Rating = 99.66% Coolness Index =extremely cool

Important Note: A high "Coolness Index" rating does not guarantee a serial number is worth more than face value.

What makes this serial number special (or not)?
10000001's digits sum to 2. In 0.000045% of 8-digit numbers, the digits sum to at most 2.
10000001 contains a 6-of-a-kind and 1 pair. Only 0.0025% of 8-digit numbers have this combination.
10000001 contains a 6-of-a-kind together. Only 0.0028% of 8-digit numbers have this combination.
10000001 is a palindrome! Only 0.010% of 8-digit numbers are palindromes.
10000001 has 2 unique digits. In 0.011% of 8-digit numbers, there are 2 or fewer unique digits.

A great find, did you just find this looking through bills in change? This is both a true binary (0's and 1's) plus its a Super Radar - A super radar is a special kind of radar. In a super radar, the interior digits are are all the same.. The super radar is actually much more rare than the binary! 1 in 1 million (1 in 1,111,111 odds of random note being a super radar). So that can also increase the potential value. Its not uncirculated and is recent (2013) however. http://www.coolserialnumbers.com/Ho...lNumbers.pdf

Welcome to CCF.
Nice find. The Coolness Index and all of it's mumbo-jumbo is not necessarily a good barometer to value. It's a sub-$500 note where I come from, which is not to say what a potential bididiot on eBay may value it at. I doubt you would recoup the added expense of grading and shipping when it's all said and done.

Your note was printed in April 2017 - http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/f2013_s.html

Nice find.

However, the condition is not good.

I would not value this above $2500, not even close.

Nice find!

I agree with @SteveinTampa & @NumismaticsFTW in that condition is paramount when it comes to special serial numbers.

If you must sell, then why not try a true auction starting from $0.99 & see where it goes? Low starts & true auctions (vs BIN) can really attract a lot more attention (buzz) & sometimes bidding battles that benefit the seller. Good luck!

I've won a number of auctions with $0.99 starting prices for $0.99, often with free shipping. They don't always generate interest or attention.

This is the type of note that is ok for grading as its very uncommon and cool, the fees are not as high as some think, but you have to consider in general that due to added shipping costs back and forth and a $10 handling fee, its always best to submit a number of items at once to spread those fees out among the many submissions when possible if you decide to. https://www.pmgnotes.com/submit/services-fees/pmg/

Agree, also that many bargain hunters are out and many coins end up sold below their value when there arent enough buyer demand at that moment for the specific item or like now its a poor economic market as collectibles are extra money. The exceptions are very popular/high demand coins with low mintage and a high traffic store only. Keep in mind some items sit months or longer when its not a high demand item to sell. Otherwise best to use buy it now with make offer on when not sure about worth imo. This is not the type of item you would want to use for a low dollar auction start value.
