The Brinks rolls around me say 50 cents on them, while the Loomis rolls say Loomis on them, and the boxes look different. Also one time I found a nickel in a quarter roll, but that was a while ago.

I know your post was about 59 cent rolls and I,ve had several of those but never taken pics of them, I think I have even had more than one dime in a roll. That being said, I'll post another positive but not a dime. I also noticed, some making note of what types of bank rolls they have had finds in. Probably 95% of rolls I search, are Loomis. Anyway, I felt like this was a positive. 1921 Canadian one cent.

tencentpenny, thanks for adding more info about Loomis and Brinks. That's interesting as I never realized Brinks didn't put their name on their rolls.
I am hoping people will also add images of any older "Customer Wrapped Rolls" as a visual record of what types are/were out there. (Kind of in the same vein that Ray Parker has helped with ID'ing real vs fake vintage wrappers.)
-makecents-, that's a really nice looking Canadian copper.
"59 cent rolls" was only what popped into my noggin for this thread but, personally, I like all the odd stuff affecting the value of rolls, in a positive way or not so much.

Last year, I got several dime rolls as I have many other times from the bank. One roll had a dime standing on its end. $1 loss I tried explaining to the bank teller later; not that it did any good.

Thanks JBuck. Sorry to hear you've not been able to search with all the free time you have on your hands. Maybe cut back on a dozen projects or so? joshu -a, that dime roll stunk. 20% under value. I don't blame you for trying to resolve it. But those foreigns were nice, especially if you collect them.

I lost interest in it when I lost my inside girl at the bank. Never date your teller... you lose a lot more than a girlfriend when you break up!

Just yesterday, I was catching up on some coin roll hunting (I have had these rolls of cents for a while sitting around), and there was a dime in one of the rolls. Also pictured is the type of roll (it is a Brinks roll).

Love it! Keep 'em coming folks. Quote: ... Never date your teller... you lose a lot more than a girlfriend when you break up! Very wise words, especially for us numismatists. Quote: ... and the box was 17.00 short Grime5, Holy smokes and wow! If that box had gone to a business their cash drawer would have had them counting and recounting or someone may have ended up being suspect. WTG tencentpenny on that 59-er roll. And thanks for adding an image. The main reason for including images of the roll is to have a reference for future searchers to see what type of wrapper was being used during a specific time frame (if this thread is even around then. LOL) I don't know of any gallery of images for the original wrappers of authentic Bank wrapped Wheat cent rolls. But there are numerous threads on different sites where collectors do try to share what they know about authentic rolls.

I would think--with thousands of bank/credit union branches scattered across the US, and densely clustered in urban areas--that attempting to make sense of wrapper types by locale and drawing sound conclusions would be quite a daunting task--commercially wrapped (Loomis, etc.), customer wrapped (using a wide variety of wrapper types), etc. Imagine the fun of trying to make sense of a pile of Loomis rolls showing up at a branch in a location which isn't served by Loomis--those Loomis rolls having been transported by someone moving into the community from 900 miles away, then deposited at the bank.
Good, clean fun.
