cant get a handle on the surfaces. the glare is making it look like there are little marks everywhere on both sides. can you give us an in-hand analysis that what we are seeing here is accurate regarding those tick marks.
strong reverse strike weaker obv strike. as is based on these photos MS62/3. color can be skewed by lighting also. RB or RD
lose any overhead lighting

Love the luster and the reverse steps . A little too much specks on obverse and reverse brings it to MS-63RD .

Quote: can you give us an in-hand analysis that what we are seeing here is accurate regarding those tick marks. The coin has MS-68+ luster, the little ticks are not so noticeable in hand, it fact, they give it a slight matte/satin look. In hand, there are virtually no distractions. You all are coming in much lower than I personally grade this coin.

Quote: the little ticks are not so noticeable in hand this makes it impossible to grade by the photos as we have no idea what it actually looks like in hand. I think the best I can do is assume the shadowing is hiding the luster so the coin give it an RD but I cant get it higher than 63 with these photos

Quote: Can't make a call of 68+ totally because of the bold luster . Sometimes my photo setup fails, it works 99% of the time but these really reflective coins are impossible for me. My camera CCD can't take it and if I reduce the exposure and/or lighting it makes the coin look weird. I am not implying this is a 68 coin, just the luster is that bright. I put this one at 66RD.

just for the heck of it instead of using a camera try using your phone and use these instructions. you probably wont get the super clear photos your're used to you but maybe give us a better look at the actual surfaces. sometimes to much sharpness is not good also
1. turn off flash 2. place coin on flat surface with indirect natural light. maybe a window sill in a cloudy day 3. move phone about 3in from coin 4. zoom in using your fingers until the coin comes into focus 5. hold phone steady. if you cant then place something on either side of the coin (like books) at that distance and lay phone between them. this will hold it steady and allow you to zoom and take the photo without any blurring
