A recent pick up for $25 that I couldn't pass up. The coin weighs 5.48 so maybe circulation wear has taken it to the lower end of tolerance. It looks like it has the dreaded wheel of doom damage marks on obverse but they don't take away much of whats left of the eye appeal thankfully. The missing 6 in the date is a neat feature. The coin listed at CoC has some strange indents on the Cud which I am unsure about the cause. Any ideas what those are? http://cuds-on-coins.com/washington...s-1932-1999/ "Pride is yoked with callous behavior, as humility is with compassion." Nice one, CoinHI! Great Cud, and it took the final 6 out out of the date too!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

This coin is very nice. I will come later with the real year. Do not seem to be 1966 by the design. One hour or two and you will have the result. I like, Cud and split clad very nice.

IMHO this coin it is an RDV-005, could be by reverse 1965 to 1968. If we look to Observe the we can see the down of the shoulder been doubled, in fact was die crack for 1968 due to a hub doubling.
My conclusion is THIS COIN IT IS 1968. 1966 was never find observe doubling down of the shoulder. (maybe could be but not confirm)

Silviosi, I sent you an email, did you get it? The coin listed on cudsoncoins shows a pretty clear top of a "6" in the recessed area opposite the Cud.

I'm always amazed at this much wear on an error of this size. Unless this was someone's pocket piece, I would think it would have been pulled from circulation when it was much closer to uncirculated condition.
Great error at a great price!

Nice acquisition! Yours looks like it was just slightly further along. You can see yours continues just a little to the west, where I have the arrow and the die crack is a little more advanced. The indentions on the listing you asked about just look like PSD.

Good eye Makecents, I didn't notice the small progression the first I looked. I wonder how much progression is necessary to merit a new listing?
