Hi to all, Someone show me a coin that seems quite enigmatic, in the sense that I can't find it on the internet. It is a Christian Wilhelm von Brandenburg 1/2 thaler from 1623 (weighs 14.5 gr. and has a diameter of 38 cm , that's all I know) ... from which I concluded that it is about 1/2 thaler , as I do not have any other information . After searching on the internet, I found 1 thaler from that period and 1/4 thaler, but nothing about 1/2 thaler. Very little information in general, which leads me to think that it is a rare or very rare type!? What do you guys think ? The coin is for sale, so if anyone is interested, offers are welcome! I have also attached the only 2 pictures he send me which are not of the best quality, but quite relevant. Thanks. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Hi again and thanks guys for the replies ! According to Kunker Gmbh it is "RR" rarity ? I wonder how much it might be worth? Or rather, how much its value decreases because of the graffiti ? Thanks,

@miha, best practice is to start only one thread per coin so I have merged your two threads.

The coin in the Kuenker auction sold for 1,000 euro 2021. The coin shown in the Numista listing sold for 850 euro in 2017. Both of these coins are more or less in their "natural" state with no major defects other than wear. As far as I can tell they are the only two examples that have sold at major auctions in the last 10 years.
Your coin started out in higher grade, but (I think) has undergone a bad cleaning, and has the grafitti.
If it is authentic, because of the rarity, it should still be collectible, perhaps at 25-50% of the price of these other two examples.

Hi, The coin was not cleaned at all, it looks so because of the 'strange' quality of the pictures, but thank you very much for the information!
