This is an awesome example imo. I would have to think that with the amount of detail on the obverse of this coin that it would be a very early state or first strike. I could be wrong. I'll post a link if you aren't sure what I'm talking about. Thanks for looking!
Yes, it's an early-stage brockage. Describing a coin as having been struck by an early-stage die cap is non-specific, as a die cap can generate all sorts of incuse and raised images (and sometimes mixtures of the two). An early-stage die cap can also produce no image, if it's a uniface die cap.
