I bought a cheap ($40) inskam-312 USB microscope off Amazon and it worked ok for a few months but now the quality of the pics are below average, way below average for some reason. I've tried all the adjustments and external lighting but just can't get it right. I should have known by the manufactures name, "inskam", lol.

Rather than posting pics and everyone saying "Post Better Pics" I'd rather find helpful hints, hacks, other software I can download or maybe even different lighting tricks I haven't tried yet? So without spending $500 on a new USB microscope, can somebody point me in the right direction?

See if you can look up the scope make and model to see if there is a software update. If none exist, open the micro, look under settings for any size/pixels settings in which you can choose... to get better close ups or clear sharp images. (Example 200×600 800×1200 etc.) An expensive micro doesn't always mean better. My first 6 years ago was a $50 one from the staples website. I was a tech for them. I just replaced the micro this past Christmas. I know of no basic software you can purchase online that is NOT linked to a physical microscope, as you need one physically hooked to your computer.

Unfortunately there are no size/pixel settings on this iskam USB microscope. I guess its time to throw some money at Amazon and hope for the best, lol.

I use my 60" TV as a monitor, I'm wondering if that's part of my problem? I'm thinking buying a coin microscope that has a 7" or 10" monitor built into the stand would be a better option, ya think?

Well can you just post a pic of what the scope images look like? (I promise not to say better images are needed) This way we can have an idea of any settings you haven't thought of to change yet.
