yep, the toning (something I don't like anyway) is fading fast. And yes, that ugly print is almost gone. Too difficult to tell if the design elements are wearing down though.

Would be interesting to lodge an ASE in the inner workings of an idustrial dryer. Would make a heck of a Dryer Coin...

Interesting. Didn't take long to wear off most of the dark toning and all of that palm print. Now you're starting to see a bit of wear on the high points and small marks in the fields. It'll be interesting to see how it continues to progress.

I agree, All the ugly is gone now, but at the expense of details too. But that is what this is for.

My preference also is for ASE's that present with a blast white color, irrespective of condition. I can understand why this coin could be used as a pocket piece. It is OK as a pocket piece, but for most of the Public, who only have a lesser appreciation for numismatics, crown sized coins didn't circulate much, because they weighed too much, and were too big to be regularly carried in pockets. That got me to thinking: How about a common date Mercury set in a removable bezel, and carried on a key ring? Would still make an interesting item for talking about, and hopefully enticing a new individual to the interesting hobby of coin collecting

Hmmmm...you must carry her when you get all dressed up in your Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes! I was expecting more scratches. So far, well, so good!
