1988 P 1c Clashed Dies (Atypical)

A recent purchase that caught my eye with the unusual rotation and misalignment of the "TY" of LIBERTY in the columns on reverse. This one is even showing a full "R" which I've never seen before. The throat area of the bust is seen over Lincoln sitting in the memorial. This is getting pretty close to a MAD clash I'd say. The coin is also showing some of the most extensive abrasion marks I've seen.

Nice find. You're right ya don't see the R much plus part of E.
If they ground off much more they'd hit zinc.

Thanks CCF! I wonder what the clash looked like before it was polished. Must have been extensive design transfer unless there was another reason for the polishing.

That is a really nice looking clash.

The strength of "LIBERTY" is outsndng.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
