The story behind this particular item:
When I proposed to my sweet wife, rather than the usual engagement ring, I presented her with a love token. It was a two-sided token with one side blank except for the usual filigree around the perimeter. It was carved on a silver dime to which I later had her initials added (after we were married, so with her new last initial.) Since then, I've kept an eye out for any other tokens with her initials. This one became available in an online auction last year and I had to get it for her. I paid a pretty hefty price for it, but you don't see gold love tokens with the right initials every day! To this day, this is the only gold I've ever purchased.
