1909 P FS1102 ( DDO) MDS Stage C
https://varietyvista.com/01a%20LC%2...9PDDO002.htm

I stumbled on this one a while ago and I'm pretty happy with the overall condition. I've got a couple of these but since I'm not sure where they are hiding, I'll venture that this one is probably in better shape.

It has the die chips in LIBERTY and the clash at the throat so it's stage c.

An added bonus was that it was struck through a decent-sized thread at the date. It starts out below the first 9, goes about halfway up the leg before jumping over to the O, and then a lazy loop over the top of the O.

Thanks everyone.
It was a nice surprise to come across this one.

Of where or what? (If you compare these images to the images at the link it should show up.)

I'm not sure I can get much better than these. These images show the thickness to the SE on the tails of the 9's and 0 of the date. Plus it has the die chip inside the B&R (LIBERTY) and the clash at the throat.

Let's see if I can get any of the doubling on TRUST to show up.

Bottom image. Not the oblong '0' on the date.

Die chips on the Liberty area.
Bottom image. The upper images are for the 1101 DDO. Why the extra numbers instead of 101 and 102? Because these are VDB dies on the 1101,1102. Without the VDB would be the DDO-101, DDO-102.

On the 1909 cents the 'R' doesn't show that mark on the 1102. I was checking for the top of the 'R' wondering if it was altered, but it is normal for that year:

The markers on the 'R' was not on the three examples from PCGS examples.

Thanks Coop.
Interesting about the PCGS examples.

The highlighted area on the "R" of TRUST looks like the images for all stages on Variety Vista.
I wonder if some of the PCGS examples you mention are the "psuedo" variety with no thickness but does have the die chips in LIBERtY.

Thank you PETE for the close-up. I ask because I learn more about cents from you guys and to know more about those varieties. The following photo (your) has also my arrow (red). It is this also a marker for variety?

You're welcome and like a lot of folks here I'm glad to help.

I'm going to say yes to using that as a marker (but the die chips in LIBERTY are much easier to spot in most seller's images).

In hand, there does seem to be secondary doubling on the underside of the 1st T (TRUST).
The end of the upper curve of the G (GOD) has some secondary doubling as well. And there is a pretty strong clash on the reverse around the C (CENT).
