Hi all collector and expert!
I got this $2 coin and when I washed it the colour didn't change at all!
Thought it was only made with a pen or some other type of.
Can someone help me with this please?

I'm totally confused now #128557;

Much appreciated! Cheers!

@no1, first welcome to CCF. Second, it sounds like you are asking about that dark patch on the reverse. To start, I would strongly advise you against "washing" your coins—or in fact, cleaning them at all. With that said, this seems to be surface discoloration to me, although I do hope we hear from some of our ANZ members to confirm.

I think some 2020-2022 $2 coins have flawed planchets, I been finding a fair amount with corrosion spots and with copper showing on surface in spots

"Double struck" coins don't show different colours.

The most likely explanation is some kind of environmental damage - something mildly corrosive landing on just part of the coin, staining the area where it landed.

... and the swirling lines appear to suggest that maybe the corrosive substance was on a piece of material, or similar, that came into contact with that section of the coin over a period of time.
