Mike, the bulk dealers have option to buy 40 coin bulk packs at a better cost, and then sometimes repackages them as they have a lot of specialized repackaged items such as being in TEP Package. The MintDirect process guarantees that these unsearched tubes of fresh Silver Eagles are taken directly from mint-strapped Monster Boxes, and each 20-coin tube is sealed to ensure that the coins remain in the same condition as when leaving the U.S. Mint. APMEX uses a special machine for this sealing process to ensure the products you receive are sealed completely once they are removed directly from the mint boxes. The mint tubes are placed on the conveyor leading into the machine and the sealing process seals both ends of each tube with tamper-evident packaging. After the process is completed, the tube is removed from the machine and then checked to ensure the quality of the packaging meets our exacting standards. You now have a finished tube of MintDirect 1 oz Silver American Eagle coins. Once completed, the MintDirect® tubes are stored back in the vault until they are ordered by our customers. By using this process, APMEX can guarantee the coins you receive are in exactly the same condition and packaging as they were when they left the United States Mint. The MintDirect process provides you the assurance this product has not been opened, sorted or searched.

I don't think they have a "W" mint mark. That would make them Burnished or Proof.

Yes, The Silver Eagles being promoted are not W mint marks. https://www.apmex.com/product/25863...PCGS-fs-tube The MintDirect Premier + PCGS FirstStrike ensures products received are sealed completely and in the condition they left the mint. Unopened tubes are taken from the mint boxes and sealed on both ends with tamper-evident packaging. Once sealed, the tube is analyzed to assure packaging satisfies APMEX's quality guidelines. This is a partnership that offers FirstStrike designation long after the eligibility cutoff date. PCGS has reviewed and confirmed the process APMEX has in place to secure coins from mints around the world and proudly stands by their products being received within 30 days of initial release and stored in a way that ensures the condition of the coins. MintDirect Premier products in their sealed packaging will remain eligible for the FirstStrike designation if submitted to PCGS for grading long after new FirstStrike-eligible coins are typically gone from the market. Previously, coins had to be stored in sealed monster boxes in secure, PCGS-approved storage locations since before the FirstStrike deadline to qualify for this designation. They also offer other products now beyond the US Mint, so possible to further expand. https://www.PCGS.com/ APMEX

It sounds just like JM Bullions MintSealed product. JM also does these coins individually as well. I did buy a 2023 bullion ASE Mintsealed and it looks really great. I left it in the small package they seal it in. It is perfect.

Quote: David, I saved the Promotion If you have a link or can upload a photo it sounds like they made a mistake, all the black tubes were from the 2020 start of the PCGS/apmex partnership and I don't see a mint mark as they are bullion. You can only get 40 packs not a monster box with individual tubes for the 2023-w which they then seal unopened so you are getting mint direct without handling of the actual coins. APMEX mentions a machine does it but so long as the tubes are sealed they are at least not handled by people after receiving from the mint then opening the tube as an individual seller would do which is the benefit. APMEX can grade theirs with first strike and gives a free account to do so because you are grading 20 coins. https://www.jmbullion.com/mintsealed/
