It weighs 8.2 grams, 26 mm in diameter, and appears to be brass/ bronze





It was in the collection of a former Royal Canadian Mint employee, hence it might have been given out in some meeting in the US.

They style of the box was remniscent of the US mint style. Red white and blue ribbon on the inside, but no writing anywhere.

Evidently these sell for a fairly nice price. The 2000 versions are ~ $125 - haven't seen any '98s.
