Hello!

Thinking about picking up two 1937F SC semi-birthday notes and wondered about their possible value.

The format is roughly 00020351 and 00020373.

Any thoughts on value for these? They are in low/mid AU condition.

Depends on the condition of the notes, and even if new, what are the odds of finding the right buyer? And indeed, what is a semi-birtthday note?

to the CCF!

My mistake. 1935. I guess birthday notes could either spell out the year or not. 2 vs 4 digits at the end. Seems like something I'll just pass on based on this discussion.

I wouldn't consider the serial number as a birthday note. I wouldn't even consider it a birth year note.

Ah, 020351 = Feb 03 1951. Although "Birthday Notes" in the MM/DD/YYYY format are generally preferred, it is recognized that many people would be happy to get any reasonable variation on their special date. For this reason, some people do buy alternative formats and therefore left up to the buyer/collector to decide if they may be interested in a particular note. Keep in mind that if your not interested in that date whether birthday, event etc then it will have little to no interest. If thats your birthday or an important date then pay what you feel its worth, but otherwise skip it in that format for value to sell to others unless its an important date.

General info:

Date serial numbers can be cool which are usually combinations of digits representing a birthday, death, anniversary, often special holidays, or important memorial day or event, even something like 09/11/2001, 07/04/1776 is possible.

These serial numbers are special types not really fancy and generally have no set pricing for their value. Maybe they will be of high demand and value if you find the right person/collector who is looking for a specific date like the anniversary/birthdays but to others of course those dates have no demand or value. It also appears its possible to even make a few hundred or possibly even a thousand if its something like 09112001 or 07041776 on a note.

Also sometimes you will find a date on a note and you would have to do some digging to see what happened on that date or whos birthday/death was on that date besides the normal collectors who are looking for their own etc (they can be date notes not just birthday). Example: https://takemeback.to/ If something is found

I think the date mistake was clarified earlier.
