Hi all! Found this 1984 Lincoln Memorial cent and USA looks like it could be doubled, but I could not find any matches on Variey Vista, or Wexler's or CopperCoins, so I thought maybe I'm seeing something that just isn't there. Something looks off on the thickness of the devices and I think I'm seeing some notches, but I'm not sure as I'm relatively new to this hobby. Hoping your experience will provide some insights as to what actually happened to this coin, if it is some kind of doubling, or worn out die, or some such normality so I may better understand what to look for and train my eyes to see!

Looking at this, I may need to try to get better pictures, but please let me know if I'm just seeing Machine Doubling, or Die Deterioration, or perhaps a DDR if you can.

That being said, my questions are:
(1) Is this a DDR?
(2) The coin seems to be quite dirty, I have seen other posts where it has been suggested to dip in 100% acetone. Would you suggest I do that with this coin? (assuming it's not just a spender).

Thank you!

Not entirely sure what's going on with this one. Nice close images, but some are a little too close to get a nice perspective of the area.
I think I'm seeing soem split serifs, but at the same time, you really cannot have doubling on both side of a device. I'm sure there is some MD affecting this too.

Acetone will not help in this case but would not harm it either. I think I am seeing MD and DDD not a DDR.

Thanks Dearborn and John1. I think you're both right, MD and DDD seems to make sense after looking at the DDD link and reexamining the coin. I appreciate your experienced opinions and replies.

I see very clear separation in the R in America that doesn't look like md.
