Small Greek Bullion Coin?

David Graham Pillar of the Community Australia 1527 Posts	Posted 06/05/2023 7:38 pm I found this in a 10kg bag of mixed coins. Looks like Ag .999 so assume Silver 0.999. I think the Greek ΓΡΑΜΜΑ means grams which would be 3 grams. My scales showed as 3.05g so makes sense. Other than that, I can't find any information about this little piece of silver bullion. Unfortunately the side with the effigy didn't have much relief. Would be great if any CC sleuths could find out some more. Thanks in advance. Sap Moderator Australia 15412 Posts	Posted 06/06/2023 12:34 am The lettering is not Greek, but close - it's Cyrillic. The language is Russian; the word in the cartouche is "standard". The word on the mostly-blank back is "Lobachevsky N.I."; it was only after translating this that I realised there's actually a very faint portrait there, and the portrait is of Nikolai Lobachevsky, Russian mathematician. publius Pillar of the Community United States 782 Posts	Posted 06/08/2023 8:18 pm If you look closely, at upper right there are the letters "#1050;#1056;#1064;#1060;", which transliterated into Roman characters is "KRShF". I suspect this is some kind of Russian bank or metals refiner, and whatever is in the small circle in the cartouche, along with the lettering and the "Ag 999", is their trademark.
