Im buying a collection from a friend of a friend.
-He has several pre 21' morgans all common, and 5 1921 morgans.
-5 Peace dollars all 22's and 23's.
-Walkers 5 common date
-22 washington 25c common
-41 rossie 10c all common

What would yall pay? I called my local LCS and they told me prices but god the amount they were saying was a joke. 14x face on everything other than the morgans. 18-25 on circ morgans and 20 on all peace common dates. Let me know

I can't speak to pricing but on a "friend of a friend" deal check the dollar coins very carefully for counterfeits.

@cor, are any of the coins slabbed or are they all raw?

I know for a fact none of them are fake, they are all common date and I have a tester I can borrow from a coin dealer friend.

They are all raw nothing slabbed, this was a collection that was given to the guy I'm buying them from who is 70 years old and it was his mothers so its lots of old stuff thats pretty circulated

Prices seem low, especially 14x, even for a dealer. Melt is about 17x, and for a private sale, anything less than that is lowballing IMO. Junk dimes, quarters, and halves are selling anywhere from 18x-21x. Common Peace 23x-30x and Morgan's 27x-35x depending on date and condition.

I'm usually a buyer of junk at no more than 20x, 27x common date UNC Peace, and 30x Morgan as of late.

You are stacking silver on common coins pulled from circulation. Here is were I am at for pricing that would be fair:

Rossies: x16.5
Wash Quarters: x16.5
Walkers: x18
Peace: x25
Morgan x27

If the Peace and Morgan dollars have been cleaned or scratched, I am taking off x2.

I bought 8 circulated Washington quarters for £20 in an English LCS two weeks ago - that works out at 12.7 x face value. I did pretty well!

So I havent seen the coins yet but just wanted an idea of the amount of money to bring. It seems 25-30 is about right for morgans and 20-25 for peace. As for the rest of the 90% I'm thinking 16-18 like yall said. Last question is he also has tons of common date buffalos and indian heads. What should I pay?

I agree with everyone that my LCS is low and thats why I dont like shopping there. Ive seen it way to many times that they buy 90% at 14 face and in 5 seconds after the person leaves sells it to another person for 20 face... doesn't seem like the business morals I like to see.

Common dates are half the starting point for valuing coins.
Grades are the other half.

If they are average circulated (VF) then bullion value would be about right.
But if they are up in the AU (or higher) range then look at them in terms of Greysheet value.

Buying at 70% of sell price seems pretty common for an LCS. I don't know if that applies to cull silver though.

I've heard the major dealers buying 90% are around 16X face now. I would be around that number and sell for 20X.

If you have a "coin dealer friend", that would be a good start to get an "eyes-on" price estimate. I would just bring some of the Morgans and Peace

I can only say it's good that you're not buying from a friend. That's a good way to lose a friend.
