I purchased a lot of ~ 90 trade tokens at auction. When they arrived, the following coin was included. I glanced at it and set it aside while I catalogued the tokens.
My first impression was "this is too nice and out of place with all of these tokens". Upon closer examination, it was easy to determine that it is a total fake. First, the planchet is far too nice for an early large cent. Second, there are so many incorrect details that I won't enumerate them. Nowhere on the coin or its edges does the word "COPY" appear. A search of the CCF did not yield images of this particular forgery, so I'm posting for the benefit of all.

Definitely fake, but kind of cool as one...

Besides the date, the reverse is totally wrong for the date.

I'm glad that it didn't really cost me anything. I went back and looked at the auction listing, and there it is in one of the five pages of 2X2s. Couldn't tell what it was then, but I didn't care as there are often unmarked items in such lots. NE of it is an interesting one: Ollie's Good for 60¢ in Drinks (CCR: "Oh Lord, stuck in Lodi again").
