The strange part is how much earlier that 10 Reis is - that is Pedro II, piece looks to be dated........ 1699!! (rotate the "VTILIT..." side 90 deg. clockwise, date is faintly visible at the top).
Two rather disparate coinage entities as is - AND separated by 150 years?!
Curious. Where in the world would these coins have mingled together? That stamp doesn't look particularly American style-wise...
