I guess this is a different form of DDR, First the regular die strike then the paint die that missed the target.

Just got these back and there is no mention of Double Die on the descriptions. The 1965 lathe lines just came back as a 5 over 5 and the 2012 Shannon has no mention of DDO as requested. The whole purpose of sending these in were to get the double die recognition. I'm going to add my own sticker to it.

The only doubling I see on either coin dates, is just a little MD or Die Deterioration. The photos are too small/fuzzy to see anything on the Obv, so I don't know what you are referring to.

Yes, I see the 5 that may have been repunched. I see a bit on the 2, but don't think that it is a double die, at least to my way of looking at doublings of Vicky large cents. Maybe by modern graders with modern coins, the strict definition of double die has changed. I don't do anything with any 20th or 21st century coins. Sorry for my post.
