Thank you for updates, New
The Anniversary of Coronation SD justified only to have KCIII on obverse. Otherwise really unnecessary edition. But design of the coin isn't attractive at all. It looks like token or round by 3-rd party.

After paying my taxes this year I have to moderate my spending for a bit. The KC proof SD really doesn't do it for me, so I'll wait on that one and see it it grows on me. At 15000 mintage I don't think it will sell out for a while. I'll get the Special Wrap First Strikes and 50-cent Special Wrap to keep the series going. Ultra High Relief 1 oz SML again to keep the series going. Ordered this time from CC&C so I get free shipping, and saved some on the taxes too!

Maybe I should have said "Gives the appearance of a sticker ......" Ordered one today, shipping date May 14th. Quote: .... His Majesty King Charles III, King of Canada, is prominently featured on the coin's obverse and its reverse, where the official portrait taken by Hugo Burnand is re-created in full colour. No mention, so far, as to how the Mint achieved this re-creation. Quote: Composition 99.99% pure silver with colour

Nothing has sold out. Although my representative has sent out two "sell out" emails for two expensive coins (the 5-oz silver and 2-oz gold).

Over the past few years, I've wondered about a natural stopping point for my collecting of Canada's NCLT silver dollars (SDs). I've thought that the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and the placement of a new monarch on the coins might be such a natural dividing line.
Simultaneously, I decided that if the Royal Canadian Mint ever began to issue SDs with flat, painted surfaces vs. engraved designs, I would stop collecting them. I may now be at my tipping point.
As others have noted, the new SD appears to have gone down the "painted pathway" for the primary design element on the coin's commemorative reverse, and thus has limited appeal to me. I've come to accept coins that incorporate colour or gold-plating to highlight portions of an engraved design, but I just don't support non-engraved, fully-painted coins. (The new SD's rim/surrounding ring of engraved maple leaves is not enough for me.)
I haven't yet purchased January's Royal Air Force Centennial SD as I was pondering my future with the series. This "painted" King Charle III Coronation SD my have helped make my decision. We'll see...

Having already purchased the Fine Silver Proof Set (with its pink gold selective plated SD) and the Anniversary of His Majesty King Charles lll's Coronation SD, perhaps the time has come. Complete this year's commemorative SD set of Charles III and let it be ....

No more buying almost every RCM release. Great relief on my wallet! Bullion has taken over the bulk of my interest now - SMLs when they do come out, US Eagles, British Britannias and others, and any silver series that I may like ( Zombucks comes to mind). Reasonably priced, and pretty well guaranteed not to loose value (unless silver tanks), and the kids can fight over them when I'm long gone!

Logic, used by RCM's designers and product managers, due to which they do not include 50c roll into the set is unclear. Just add roll's price to the set, make it bit more 'premium-ish' - and you have nice all inclusive product.

I've yet to buy any Canadian coins this year, and cancelled the 'circulated' 2023 Chucky set in March, but I must admit that I still get the itch to keep going when I get the monthly pamphlets from the RCM. I've stopped because the coinage was no longer 'cost-worthy'. Your reason might be totally different, but it's sad to see a pillar fall.

I purchased a couple rolls of the 2024 50 cent coins from the RCM. One for me and one for my son that I'll give him later. One of the rolls has the coat of arms on both ends and the king is not showing. I have purchased many 50 cent rolls from the RCM, but this is the first time I have received a roll like this, showing the same thing on both ends. I'm just wondering if this is something I should send back to the mint? What have other people done with rolls like this?

Just the last two on the release list for me. The first has already arrived and the second is in transit.
Prior to that, I purchased the1st Wonderous Waters coin and the Silver Proof Set, and after a lengthy delay, the green packaged 2023 Uncirculated Set with King Charles III arrived. The annual book for 2023 is also on order.
As for the rolls, just like with the United States Mint, these are assembled by machine so there is no way to know whether one end or the other will be heads or tails.

Quote: As for the rolls, just like with the United States Mint, these are assembled by machine so there is no way to know whether one end or the other will be heads or tails. RAM (Royal Australian Mint) started to do smarter thing: they designated rolls with heads+tails visible as "premium" and charging a bit more for them. Quote: One of the rolls has the coat of arms on both ends and the king is not showing. I had similar situation with 2021 rolls. For that year, rolls were sold out quick, dealers increased the price and I decided to keep what I got. In your case, where KCIII more important to see on the coin - I would return it. They will be fulfilling the request manually according to your return request notes.
