A butter magnate...first I've heard of it. I'm going to have to take a look at this when the auction catalogs come out as it does sound amazing to see such an old collection still together.

It deeply troubles me to see the "vice president of numismatics" handling clearly very valuable coins with his bare hands.

Gloves make me clumsy! We can all agree "drop dings" would be worse than a fingerprint (that can be removed with acetone if caught quickly).

What's all this fuss about buttered magnets, and why are we even talking about it on a coin forum? .... Oh ... NEVER MIND ...  But, more seriously, yes, absolutely fascinating! However, I see a potential discrepancy between the claim that some coins could sell for over $1 million, and the purchase by the museum of the 7 rarest coins for a total of only $1 million. As discussed elsewhere, most of the world just doesn;t want to pay up for rarities the way American collectors do for American coins.
