We are now at 1334 AD, and it's time for my long-promised 734 AH coin... Golden Horde, time of Muhammad Uzbek Khan Bulghar mint?, [73]4 AH obverse: tamgha of Batu in pentagram, date between rays reverse: Arabic inscription ("pul of Bulghar"?) in eight-lobed shape Numista 224669, Zeno cat. 10665Note that the digits are in reverse order compared to the Numista drawing (the top of the 4 is visible at 7h on the first pic). Compare the drawing at Zeno 18681 with the same order as on my coin. Current gap listing: 1464-2, 1457, 1454, 1446, 1414, 1409-7, 1385-1, 1367, 1363, (1361?,) 1360, 1356, 1350-44, 1342-39, 1337-5. We have crossed the 90% coverage point somewhere in the early 1340s and are now at a bit below 89%.

I need to do some catch-ups. Apologies for the delay, some issues have kept me occupied elsewhere for the most part. Starting off with a AH729 (1329 CE) Delhi Sultans AR tanka with a written date.

Excellent coins! As a reminder, AFAICT we're at 1321 at the moment, so there's (hopefully) still some catch-up left.
I looked at my "723 AH" and couldn't confirm the date; it's the same type as your 725 AH but I can't quite figure out what the date is. (It's mostly off flan.) I can try to post it anyway after we pass all the dates for that type (so, in about a week) but I'm not sure I could get confirmation.
Updated gap listing: 1464-2, 1457, 1454, 1446, 1414, 1409-7, 1385-1, 1367, 1363, (1361?,) 1360, 1356, 1350-44, 1342-39, 1337-5, 1333-0, 1328, and theoretically 1324-22 but I'm postponing including those in case they show up shortly.

Quote: It took me a while to figure out how to count bd251's coin; the Zeno category has a bunch of 763 AH examples, but they all seem to have the strokes set up differently. AFAICT it's a double die match to Zeno 117210 - which doesn't have a legible date either, but it's a date-side die match to Zeno 271168, which does. A complicated coin! Somehow, in all my searching, I missed that there were 763-dated ones as well. I guess that's what I get for trusting Numista on a coin like this before going to zeno I have two for AH 725 Delhi Sultanate 6 gani Golden Horde Uzbek Khan AE pul 795 (AH 725) Lebedev #m48a, zeno cat# 6859 Edit: I'm pretty sure these are my last dated coins for a few hundred years.

Quote: I guess that's what I get for trusting Numista on a coin like this before going to zeno Numista does also cite a dedicated catalog, which also calls it a single-year type. If I hadn't checked Zeno just in case, I'd probably have agreed with you as well... This kind of coinage is probably a lot more represented in collections now than it was when the catalog was made, due to all the metal detecting finds, and I wouldn't be surprised if the catalog creators hadn't seen any legible 763. In any case, I'm reasonably confident in my reasoning for why your coin was almost certainly originally dated 762 after all.
