Does anyone have any info on this coin? It says 38,888 were released. I have never seen nor can I find any info about this coin online.

Is it an in-demand coin? It seems to have the Silver Maple Leaf bullion design so I'm sure this is a must-have for SML collectors.

Made by Canadian Royal Mintage Works (Located in: Shanghai, China) not the Royal Canadian Mint.
Buyer, beware!!!

Never seen such coin before.
I would say, not by RCM directly, but was strike by some affiliate for local market.
Too much effort invested in the COA to be fake.

Made in China, in an after market 'mint' similar to the US's Franklin Mint.

It looks to be a knock-off to the medallion that was included in the "1998 to 2009 Royal Canadian Mint $15 Chinese Lunar Coin Set of 12". I agree with all that the RCM did not mint or issue this coin.

The set was available at GW. The item link is http://store.gatewestcoin.com/store...anada&site=1

Based on the Gatewest image shown, I believe I have that 2 oz. medal in the case. I bought it without the $15 coins, choosing, instead, to store my twelve 2004 Lunar Privy-marked Silver Maple Leaf coins in it.

The medal served multiple masters.
