So I bought a Sol cheap, it has some strange gouges on the rims, I have since seen several 1871 with the same types of gouges, they are to deep to be from cleaning. Is the plancet misplaced? looks like its folded over. ITs show at 3 oclock and at 9. Would be strange if its PMD and several coins show same type of PMD.

In this first post I post the examples I found in a quick search.
Next post, my coin.
grateful for help

Look like adjustment marks, made by the mint before striking.
More commonly found on 18th century silver coins, especially French ecus.

The Peruvian Sol in your possession appears a somewhat weak or defective strike, as is the counter-stamp of Guatemala. So that coin would not have much value IMO.

Here is one for sale on ebay for $250 (overpriced).
It has the guatemala counter-mark on both sides, not just one.
item: 305723492123

Here is a very nice one for sale on ebay for $129 buy it now.
item: 116284076534

I will note that there are reports of this coin being commonly counterfeited. So worth weighing it, checking for silver content.

Thank you for input Wizened I appreciate it.Weight and Size checks out.I to think its diealigment and diedeterioation.
This might affect eyeappeal and desirability. But some ppl collect errorcoins aswell. I only paid 30 $ so I can't go wrong
Even the top graded one has these errors.
I like the counterstamped ones
