Anyone know where there are coin machines available? I used to use M&T but they got rid of them all and I don't want to use coinstar, I have near 1000$ in dollar coins after sorting a box and a gift card for that would suck.

Some of the banks and credit unions in our neck of the woods have coin machines. Not sure where you live but check those out.

Why not roll them? $1000 in dollar coins is only 40 rolls. Wont take that long.

I've been rolling mine as they took the coin counter machine out at my local bank. It was prone to problems anyway, I remember one time I dumped a whole bunch of coins in the hopper not realizing it had jammed. The lady at the bank gave me the old stink eye over that one. She didn't say anything though; probably a mom and has had enough grape kool-aid on the brand new carpet type incidents that she knows to remain calm.

I do use tubes similar to that top picture Dearborn posted.

If you go to CoinStar you can cash them in and get a gift card for Amazon and Apple with no fees. We do that all the time and just apply it to our balance for future use.

I cashed in over $250 worth of pennies the last time. I know they were all pennies but they did report 2 dimes and a nickel.

Don't know how a bank could function efficiently without a counting machine.

i would say if youre going shopping or picking up food and know what youre going to spend just take the amount youd need and spend them as is. people may not expect them but its just as good as anything else.

Thanks guys for the suggestion, I live on Long Island New York if anyone knows any around there, as for the personal machines does anyone know any that also take half dollars? (I know the ones at banks don't ever but if I'm going to buy my own machine and rolls would be nice to have everything. As for coinstar I really don't want thousands of dollars tied up like that
