A bunch of interesting coins for 1796 and 1795! France 1795-1796 (year 4), 5 centimes. Seemingly insignificant, this is the very first coin in the new franc system introduced a few years after the French revolution. It is also the first time Marianne, the well-known symbol for the French republic, appears on a coin.
