With gold now at over $4k Canadian, how would you think that impacts the value of the Star Trek Gold Delta which is a 1/2 oz gold coin.

They've always carried a price premium above the spot price for gold, but I wonder if now you'd be lucky to get more than a couple hundred above spot. I think the price of gold may now greatly overshadow the collectibility.

I sold two in 2022 and got about $600 US - $700 US over spot ( ebay sales), but that would put the value today around $2k US or $2,900 cnd. I don't see anyone paying that. I guess at some point the commodity value overshadows and collectors value?

I sold two but held onto one. I planned to display it but discovered my basement has too much dust so unfortunately my more valuable collectibles stay in a drawer. I also have the coolest signed book I want to display but it also stays in storage for the same reason.

Seems like most of the value is now in the gold vs the collectible.

It's a cool piece. I thought it would be larger, I really didn't think about how small 1/2 oz would be before purchasing. My wife got me a silver enterprise shaped coin for my birthday. It's really cool.
