Quote: These are the first set of advertising tokens issued by Heaton. Nice examples! Quote: You will notice that it says Heaton & Son. Both sons hadn't joined the company until 1852 when they changed the name to Heaton & Sons. Very interesting.

Quote: The Birmingham Mint issued 'spinners' as advertisers for their different subsidiaries. These examples are from the late 70's to late 80's. Very interesting!

I'm very impressed with your material about Heaton's, and the items you've shown. It's just crossed my mind that you might have enough resources there to actually produce a history of the firm, and put it out either as a book or as a magazine article. I'm sure Coin News would love to hear from you.

Thanks Spyro. Yes, I probably have enough material. It may be a future project. I currently have a web site that catalogues all these pieces. It's completely free for anybody to access. Once I have enough posts, I will share the web address.

I just posted a Birmingham Mint related post in the medals etc section. The subject matter didn't quite fit here. I tried to post a link to it directly but it didn't work. If someone else is able to post the link, I would appreciate it.
