Sap Moderator Australia 16340 Posts	Posted 02/19/2025 7:51 pm If you're going to be experimenting, I would suggest starting with phosphoric acid. Phosphoric acid is less aggressive than other acids as it removes rust but turns the bare metallic iron surface into a thin layer of insoluble iron phosphate, which acts as a protective barrier preventing the acid from damaging the underlying metal too much and helps prevent further rust from reforming. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff
